Jeany Zhao, WG’25, shares insights gained from her Leadership Venture in Patagonia; Wharton Magazine interviews Carleigh Jaques, WG’95, a founding member of the Wharton AI & Analytics (WAIAI) Advisory Board; and MBA Reunion Weekend approaches — along with a chance to give back to the Wharton community.
Beyond the Classroom: Leadership Lessons in Patagonia

The McNulty Leadership Program’s immersive Leadership Ventures push Wharton MBA students far outside their comfort zones and into experiences that shape how they lead for life. For Jeany Zhao, WG’25, a breathtaking journey through Patagonia became a real-world exercise in trust and collaboration.
Thanks to donors who give to The Wharton Fund and the McNulty Leadership Program, students are discovering what it means to lead and bringing those lessons back to business and beyond.
Meet Carleigh Jaques, WG’95, Founding Member of the WAIAI Advisory Board

Carleigh Jaques, WG’95, a founding member of the Wharton AI & Analytics (WAIAI) Advisory Board, is no stranger to the intersection of finance and technology. Since retiring two years ago, she’s embraced the opportunity to learn new languages and tackle home remodeling projects — but with 15 years at Visa under her belt, her expertise remains crucial in shaping the School’s approach to emerging technologies and securing its position as an AI innovator.
In this interview with Wharton Magazine, Jaques shares how she got her start in fintech, discusses how Wharton is leading the charge in AI, and offers her best advice for alumni approaching retirement.
